Provost Leadership Team

Enrique Morales-Diaz began his role as Provost in March 2023. He serves as the chief academic officer and member of the President's Cabinet and Executive Staff. Dr. Morales-Diaz provides leadership and strategic direction for the Division of Academic Affairs and promotes cross-divisional collaboration to broaden and build opportunities for student success and scholarly achievements. He also partners with faculty and staff across campus on initiatives surrounding academic program development, co-curricular programs, enrollment and retention, and access and inclusion.

Dr. Morales-Díaz holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from the University at Albany, where he also earned an M.A. in Latin American & Caribbean Studies and an M.A. in Hispanic Studies. He earned his B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies at SUNY Brockport and is finishing a doctoral thesis in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. His research focuses on how Latinx institutional agents employ their cultural wealth at Hispanic-serving community colleges in New England.

Dr. Morales-Díaz most recently served as the assistant provost at Westfield State University in Massachusetts. There, he also served as chair of the Department of Language & Culture Studies, acting chair of the Department of Ethnic & Gender Studies, interim dean of faculty, and acting associate dean of education. A tenured full professor, Dr. Morales-Díaz played critical roles in Westfield's development of a Spanish major and the Ethnic & Gender Studies program – the first of its kind in the Northeast. Prior to arriving at Westfield in 2008, Dr. Morales-Díaz began his career in Oneonta in 2000 as a teaching fellow and faculty member at Hartwick College. During that time, he also taught courses in the Africana and Latinx Studies and Women's & Gender Studies programs here at SUNY Oneonta.

As Vice Provost, Dr. Morgan-Zayachek works with the Provost and Academic Affairs leadership team members to develop and implement academic plans, programs, and policies. She collaborates cross-divisionally to promote and support excellence in teaching and learning, and student success.

Dr. Morgan-Zayachek oversees the offices of Career Development, Extended & Community Learning, Faculty Center for Teaching, Learning & Scholarship, and Global Education.

Dr. Morgan-Zayachek holds a Ph.D and M.A. from Indiana University, Bloomington. She earned a B.A. in English from Colgate University. She joined the faculty at SUNY Oneonta in 2000 in the English department, and has also served as Interim Dean of Arts and Humanities and Interim Provost in the past. Dr. Morgan-Zayachek became the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2014 and Vice Provost in 2023.

As Dean, Dr. Allen serves as the chief academic, fiscal and administrative officer for the School of Sciences. He provides strategic leadership for all programs in the school and promotes and supports faculty and activities that advance teaching, learning, scholarship and service.

The School of Sciences consists of ten academic departments, 16 undergraduate majors, three graduate programs and four direct-report offices (Science Discovery Center (SDC), Pre-Health Professions, Sciences Instructional Support, and the Biological Field Station).

​​​​​Dr. Allen holds a Ph.D. in Geosciences from Oregon State University, a M.S and B.A. both in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences from George Mason University. He joined the faculty at SUNY Oneonta in 2000 in the Geography and Environmental Sciences department and served as chair from 2008 - 2015. He also served as Interim Dean for the School of Social Sciences, the School of Social Science, School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and School of Sciences. Dr. Allen became the Dean for the School of Sciences in 2019.

As Dean, Dr. Davies serves as the chief academic, fiscal and administrative officer for the School of Education, Human Ecology and Sports Studies. He provides strategic leadership for all programs in the school and promotes and supports faculty and activities that advance teaching, learning, scholarship and service.

The School of Education, Human Ecology and Sports Studies consists of five academic departments, ten undergraduate majors and seven graduate programs.

Dr. Davies holds a Ph.D. in Social and Philosophical Foundations of Education and a M.S.Ed. in Social Studies Education from Rutgers University, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Stockton State College. He joined the faculty at SUNY Oneonta in 2020 as Dean of the School of Education, Human Ecology and Sports Studies.

As Dean, Dr. Dunn serves as the chief academic, fiscal and administrative officer for the School of Liberal Arts and Business. She provides strategic leadership for all programs in the school and promotes and supports faculty and activities that advance teaching, learning, scholarship and service.

The School of Liberal Arts and Business consists of 13 academic departments and 19 undergraduate majors in four disciplines - Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts, Social Sciences, and Business.

Dr. Davies holds a Ph.D. in American Intellectual History from the University of Illinois and a M.A. and B.A. in History and American Studies from Purdue University. She joined the faculty at SUNY Oneonta in 2018 as Dean of the School of Liberal Arts. In 2021, the academic structure was reorganized, and a new school of Liberal Arts and business was created, which Dr. Dunn now leads.

As the Executive Director of Academic Support Maureen supervises Academic Advisement, Accessibility Resources, and the Student Learning Center. As University Registrar, Maureen oversees maintenance, integrity, accuracy, and privacy of all academic records in an ethical manner consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. The Registrar's Office supports and provides liaison for the implementation, application, and monitoring of the university's academic and administrative policies, as well as all registration and degree conferral processes.

Maureen is a 1998 graduate of SUNY Oneonta and holds a B.S. in Political Science. She then completed a M.S in Social Policy from Empire State University. Maureen has worked at SUNY Oneonta in various roles since 1998. She has been serving as the Registrar since 2008.

As the Director of Milne Library, Darren serves as the chief academic, fiscal, and administrative officer (and building manager) for the James. M. Milne Library. He provides strategic leadership for all library programs, services, operations, resources, and collections. He also actively supports library staff and activities that advance learning, teaching, scholarship, discovery, growth and service.

The James M. Milne Library oversees the information literacy instruction program, the scholarly communications program, University Archives & Special Collections, and three departments: Access Services and Library Technology; Collection Development, Resource Management and Sharing; and Reference and Instruction.

Darren earned an MLIS from the School of Informatics at the University at Buffalo, and a BA in English Literature from the University of Southern Mississippi. He joined SUNY Oneonta in 2019.

As the Assistant to the Provost, Sasha provides support to ensure efficient operation of the Office of the Provost and Division of Academic Affairs. She supports the various departments and other administrative assistants through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication.
