The Administrative (Faculty) Fellows program is a pilot program in Academic Affairs that serves several strategic (and tactical) purposes:
- Building a deeper bench on potential leadership from the teaching faculty ranks for those interested in considering administrative roles
- Providing professional development opportunities for those fellows in support of Mission-critical goals such as experiential learning, student engagement and retention, and inclusivity / diversity
- Strengthening the roles and offices of the academic deans and library director by creating focused projects for each of the four selected fellows with one- and two-year deliverables, integrating the academic schools/units but allowing organic unit-based tailoring.
Potential “Faculty Fellows” (as they are generally called) must be a SUNY Oneonta tenure-track or tenured faculty member with a minimum of five years of service, propose projects that align with School/Unit mission and university priorities, and commit to a two-year period under the mentorship and tutelage of Academic Affairs leadership. Four fellows were accepted for the pilot, each supported by professional development money and re-assigned time; each expected to work synergistically with leadership through their deans/directors; each expected to present the progress on their projects, briefly detailed below, to faculty and staff in the spring of each year.

Life of the Mind digital poster exhibition
Milne Library Scholarly Communications Librarian Jennifer Jensen and Faculty Fellow and Head of Access Services & Library Technology Brendan Aucoin partnered with the Grants Development Office to implement a Life of the Mind digital poster exhibition.
The digital exhibition was located on the first floor of Milne Library, facing the main seating area and across from the Reference Desk. The intention of the display was to engage and inspire students and other library guests by sharing dynamic selection of LOTM presentations.
Academic engagement and supporting, promoting SUNY Oneonta research and scholarship are among Brendan Aucoin’s Faculty Fellows initiatives. The display materials were purchased thanks to the Faculty Fellows program of the Office of the Provost.
The full set of posters, presentations, and videos from Life of the Mind were available until November 2022 at the Acadiate website. Previous years of LOTM are listed on the Scholarly Activities website.
