Technical support
Our Information Technology Service Desk, located on the lower level of the Milne Library, assists students with all technology questions, including training for students and faculty/staff to learn more about the many software applications we provide.
The IT Service Desk can be reached at helpme@oneonta.edu, 607-436-4567, or by submitting a ticket through our ITServices Portal, which also provides hours of operation and information on many IT topics in our Knowledge Base.
Internet access
SUNY Oneonta has an extensive and robust campus WiFi network and is among the most wired universities in the country and our educational resources incorporate significant use of computer technology.
All residence halls have coverage throughout the buildings as do academic and administrative buildings. In addition, we have robust outdoor WiFi in the main Academic Quad, outside the Milne Library, and outside many of our residence halls and we’re always working to expand our coverage.

Computer and printer access
Computer labs and printers are available in each residence hall and in many other buildings.
If you decide to purchase a personal computer, our student laptop recommendations page provides current specs you should aim for. As a current student, you will get the full Microsoft 365 service suite with home use rights for Microsoft Office (on up to 5 personal devices) and access to Microsoft Online Apps via the web with mobile apps available for both iOS and Android devices.
You can print to campus printers from your personal devices. Personal printers are allowed but must be connected via cable, as they cannot connect to the campus WiFi.
Phone and TV services in residence halls
Students living on campus can watch live and on-demand content through the SpectrumU TV streaming service and may request a phone line in your residence hall which offers both domestic and international calling.
